Our Client
● A healthcare professional contacted us with a request to analyze wait times for X-rays and medical scans across various hospitals in Canada.
● The ultimate goal was to present the findings to the Government of Canada, advocating for an increase in the number of hospitals or scanning centers to alleviate patient wait times for X-rays and scans.
Problem Statement
● In Canada, the healthcare system deals with problems like long waits for medical tests,
which can slow down patient care. One big worry is how long it takes for patients to get
their medical tests and X-rays at different labs nationwide.
● To tackle this problem, the government is looking into ways to cut wait times and make medical services easier to get. We suggest making a dashboard to study the wait time data for hospitals. Then, we can give the government ideas on what they can do to fix things.
Our Solution
We’ve crafted a comprehensive dashboard examining wait times over the past 5 years, spotlighting diverse regions (cities) and their wait durations, coupled with patient priority or urgency. Our setup involved:
● Crafting a dashboard via Tableau, a powerful data visualization tool, to dissect and present wait time data for medical labs across Canada.
● Collecting historical wait time data from numerous hospitals and medical facilities spanning different provinces.
● Introducing pivotal metrics including average wait time, patient queue sizes, and the dispersion of wait times across various hospitals.

● Our suggestions match the goal of reducing wait times, and we back them up with insights from the dashboard.
● Users find the dashboard easy to use, helping them make smart choices and take action to fix the wait time issue
The test shows that the dashboard is good at analyzing wait time data for medical labs in Canada and giving ideas to cut wait times. By using data and graphs, the dashboard helps authorities make smart choices and fix the problem. Our findings can help make decisions about healthcare and where to put resources to make things better for patients in Canada
